Creating the Canadian Women’s Network

We’ve Paved the Way

In 2017, a small group of expat Canadian women in the Bay Area met for dinner. Some had lived there for decades - like Joanne, Karen and Landon. Others were beginning to make the Bay Area home - like Catherine, Tannis and Shanna. And some had a tie to Canada through their firm or spouse - like Ameena and Jennifer.

They made a pledge - to join together and tap into their extensive Silicon Valley network to give Canadian female founders access to the expertise and experience needed to build a successful global startup.

We started with Silicon Valley Immersion Programs - bringing groups of women entrepreneurs to the Bay Area for a trip to the valley. In 2019, we launched an online membership platform to connect Canadian female founders with women globally and provide opportunities for women leaders to do business and grow locally in Canada.

Members benefit from access to our influential network of mentors, investors and world-class advisors who can guide them on the growth of their business.

We support members through educational programs, high-value events, mentor sessions, virtual and in-person accelerator programs.

 Our Values

  1. Be Outstanding - Deliver exceptional results. Learn how to fish. Find solutions. Don’t settle for mediocrity. Think big and then bigger.

  2. Be Accountable - Even when no one is watching. Be honest. #GetShitDone. Learn from your mistakes. Teach others. Move on.

  3. Be Authentic - Be honest. Respect others. Be selfish to create the best version of you - be it morning routines, exercise, family time, or pushing your limits.

  4. Be Curious - Be unafraid of mistakes. Have a growth mindset. Embrace change. Don’t be afraid to fail. Choose courage over fear.  Embrace “Yes, and …”

  5. Be Part of the Team - Lead. Empower others. Learn to co-elevate. Promote a fun work environment. Work as a team towards our mission. Praise in public. Provide feedback in private.

  6. Be Relationship Driven - Take the time to connect with our customers, entrepreneurs, members, sponsors, partners and other key stakeholders.

  7. Be Grateful - Thank your fellow teammates frequently. Be humble. Embrace diversity. Treat a janitor the same way you would a CEO.
