About

Founded in Canada is a Founder Showcase designed to provide pitch feedback and support to Canadian-based female founders in a specific industry or technology area.

Canadian Women’s Network is bringing you our Founded in Canada, for startups focused on Food & Agriculture.

We accept a broad range of startups - from restaurant technology to consumer products to food waste solutions to farming advancements.

We invite startups to apply for the opportunity to present their company to select investors and industry experts who will provide feedback on their presentation, as well as on their business model and strategies.

Showcase Format

Startups selected will work with the CWN and our partners to polish their pitch and presentation ahead of the showcase

Startups will present in a small group format a 10-minute pitch twice to two groups of global Food & Ag focused investors - in the morning & afternoon session.

Following each showcase pitch, the investors will provide feedback, ask clarifying questions, and provide additional recommendations to help the founder position their businesses.

Application

Criteria

  • At least one female founder or female on the executive leadership team

  • Your company is headquartered in Canada

  • Your company has developed an innovative technology solution related to Food or Agriculture.

  • Pre-Seed to Series A

  • Early traction - raised a round, or have equivalent traction through bootstrapping and government grants; are generating revenue; in customer pilots etc.

  • July 10th
